Jessica Swapp, Associate
Since joining the firm in 2018, Jessica’s practice areas include both litigation and transactional matters. Not being a native of Oklahoma, Jessica has embraced this state, its resources, its people, and is happy to now call Oklahoma home.
She has developed a vast knowledge of the oil and gas industry that is so prevalent in Oklahoma. She has assisted clients in negotiating oil and gas leases and surface use agreements. She has represented clients in litigation matters in both state and federal court on matters related to the oil and gas industry, as well as appeared before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to assist in regulatory matters.
She represents clients with the transfer of property and assets, whether that be through probate, including summary administrations, or in the distribution of trust estates. In doing so, she often communicates with oil companies on behalf of clients to effectively transfer ownership, ensure proper royalty payments, and to retrieve funds held in suspense. While a majority of her probate and trust administration work consists of uncontested matters, she has represented clients in contested probate proceedings, as well as trust administrations that require Court involvement.
Throughout her practice she has also represented clients in a variety of other civil matters such as, condemnation proceedings, quiet title proceedings, and pursued judgments and collections, including enforcement proceedings to collect on judgments, through garnishments.
With her knowledge and experience in litigation, probates, and trusts she also assists clients with estate planning and business formation.
